1. What significant life experiences or events have influenced and shaped your artistic vision?
My artistic vision was shaped by many creative people I met throughout my life. The most significant event, however, was immigrating to another country. In Canada, I met Yana, the creator of this work, and our friendship inspired me to see creativity in a new way. At that time, my main passion was developing ideas for photoshoots: we searched for references together, discussed concepts, and created unique atmospheres. This experience taught me the importance of collaboration and bringing ideas to life as a team.
2. Collaboration often sparks fresh creativity. Can you share an example of a collaboration that led to an unexpected and exciting artistic outcome?
As I mentioned earlier, Yana and I form a creative team that strives to improve our work with every project. Over time, our collaboration has led to many meaningful achievements, including previous publications in Mob Journal. However, having our work featured on the cover this time is a special milestone that confirms our shared vision and progress. Seeing our creativity recognized in this way is both inspiring and fulfilling.
3. Walk us through a specific project that challenged your creative boundaries. How did you approach it, and what did you learn from the experience?
One of our first projects, a photoshoot inspired by the Ukrainian mythical creature, the Mavka, was a real challenge for us. We worked in a park, surrounded by fast-flowing water, which not only made the process more difficult but also drew the attention of passersby. It was an experience that taught us to adapt to challenging conditions and work with limitations. Despite the difficulties, the result was successful and became the starting point for our future publications.
4. In the ever-evolving art world, what do you believe sets your work apart and makes it unique or groundbreaking?
I don’t claim that my work is unique, but we always strive to avoid clichés and be original. We choose themes that are close to our hearts, while also keeping an eye on trends in the world of photography to ensure our work remains relevant and fresh. We put in the effort to avoid merely copying others and instead focus on creating something genuine and inspiring.
5. As you reflect on your journey, are there any specific goals or milestones you've set for your artistic career in the coming years?
Looking back on our journey, we realize that with each project, we strive for greater creative growth. In the coming years, we would like to create more complex and layered works that are not only visually appealing but also carry deep meaning. We are interested in exploring new approaches, experimenting with concepts, and working with more diverse styles and themes. The constant process of self-development is important to us, and we are confident that each new project will be a step forward in our creative careers.
