1. What significant life experiences or events have influenced and shaped your artistic vision?

I've always been extremely interested in modeling and fashion. Then at 14 I walked my first runway show and I was instantly hooked. And I did print and runway regularly until started college. However, I thought once I became a mother of two and spent 20 years raising them, that my modeling was a dream of the past. But I was pleasantly wrong in that regard! The rules of the modeling world had shifted from the views of the 90's and 2000's.

So, at the age of 42, with one DM from a photographer, and a photoshoot that was subsequently published, my modeling career suddenly began again. And although I had reservations about if I could actually model as a career, I accepted the personal challenge and booked other shoots. And I'm glad I did. Cause my whole perspective on my perceived limitations changed; especially those related to age.

2. Collaboration often sparks fresh creativity. Can you share an example of a collaboration that led to an unexpected and exciting artistic outcome?

I had a photographer who reach out to me regarding collaborating on a "painting with light" concept he wanted to try. I had no idea what "painting with light" or a light-wand even was. But I loved the photographer's other work, so I agreed to the collaboration. The photos from that shoot are some of the most creative images I've ever participated in creating. And the photographer was happy with the results, he immediately booked me to a series of projects. Thus, I believe sometimes you just have to take the chance! Especially when you believe in the talents of the photographer and creative team.

3. Walk us through a specific project that challenged your creative boundaries. How did you approach it, and what did you learn from the experience?

I had photographer reach out to me who specialized in boudoir and natural light photography. Due to my age these two shooting styles were areas I shied away from. As being over 40 I was much more comfortable shooting in studio lighting. But I took the chance and accepted the booking. I shot with the photographer for about 45 minutes, in two different looks. And when I received the photos back from the photographer, I was in awe! As the photographer captured me in such a manner that I looked naturally beautiful and youthful. And from that one shoot I learned to not be afraid of natural light photography. Cause when other creatives have perfected their craft, trust the process, and employ your skills with match energy. The results will often pleasantly surprise you.

4. In the ever-evolving art world, what do you believe sets your work apart and makes it unique or groundbreaking?

I believe what sets up my work apart is that I'm not afraid to continually push myself to try new shooting styles and poses. And I practice, practice, and practice some more. As age is nothing but a number and practice makes progress. So, if I practice new things I can learn new things. Also, I believe that showing the various parts of my personality, even the sassy, fun, sexy side, regardless of my age makes me different. Plus, I'm not afraid to express myself through my fashion choices or my modeling style. Honestly every woman is uniquely beautiful! And I strive to inspire every woman to own her uniqueness and love their bodies.

5. As you reflect on your journey, are there any specific goals or milestones you’ve set for your artistic career in the coming years?

Well, this is the last year of my 40's and I can't wait to see what my sos bring. But I know I plan to continue to push my creative boundaries, honing my skills and challenge societal standards. Especially as it relates to body-positivity and modern beauty. Cause beauty truly is ageless, comes in all shapes, and is all around us. We just have to be willing to see it!
