Kaleidoscope Glaze
An image that splits from itself; fragmented shadows become bright colour and the body becomes form once again. We are free in these altered reflections, where bodies become abstract and each facet becomes a container for infinite sides of us: a hypersaturated, pop and fun version of Rorschach's Spots.
1. What driving force motivates you as an artist and keeps you going?
The world of photography and the world of fashion change with society, and the observer watches it every day with slightly different eyes than the day before. For me, the most stimulating challenge is precisely to be able to follow these changes with an ever-changing gaze. In a present that is now overloaded with visual inputs, I absolutely love the idea of internalizing them and turning them into an output that becomes a blend of my own experience and that of the world around me.
2. Collaboration can be important for artists. Tell us about your team and how they contribute to your work.
There is no growth without collaboration. A team is a current that moves, supports, disrupts. An inexhaustible source of energy that is self-sustaining and compensating. Finding people like those on the team I am a part of is a true blessing for any creative and a source of continuous enrichment. The Urbanstar team is the synthesis of what Urbanstar set out to be already 20 years ago when it was born in Rome: a point of reference for anyone who is passionate about streetwear and urban and the whole philosophy behind what is not just a genre of clothing but a real subculture. The team is the tool that allows us to give shape to our ideas, to make them come alive.
3. Can you tell us about your creative process, from the initial idea to the final result?
There is no growth without collaboration. A team is a current that moves, supports, disrupts. An inexhaustible source of energy that is self-sustaining and compensating. Finding people like those on the team I am a part of is a true blessing for any creative and a source of continuous enrichment. 4. What challenges have you faced in your career so far, and how have you overcome them?
Ours is an industry in which competition is very high and those who play it down often win. We, on the other hand, bet on us: on our creative vision, on our proposals, on the trust of the passionate people who have made us a point of reference over the years. The challenge is not only to keep up with the times but even to anticipate them, and our creative team works on exactly that: to offer a point of view that no one else has and then make it match the demand of our audience. It is always very rewarding when we succeed and gives us the energy to take on whatever new challenges come our way.
5. What led you to choose Mob, and what are your career aspirations in this field?
The creative freedom that I have seen selected by your magazine is exactly the kind of stimulus that the team and I are constantly looking for: a place where we can show ourselves already knowing that we are understood. I don't want to talk about aspirations but hope, and what I hope for every day is to continue to have that curiosity that drives me to grow and, therefore, to improve myself by getting exactly where I want to be at that moment.
