Full Moon

1. What significant life experiences or events have influenced and shaped your artistic vision?
Growing up in Asia, I was deeply influenced by the cultural symbolism of the moon, often seen as a metaphor for change and introspection. The black moon, in particular, evokes a sense of mystery and melancholy, which resonates with the themes in my work. The color black, to me, also represents ink—a medium that bridges tradition with modernity. As a new media artist, I explore this duality, using both the historical and futuristic connotations of ink to express complex emotions and concepts.
2. Collaboration often sparks fresh creativity. Can you share an example of a collaboration that led to an unexpected and exciting artistic outcome?
One memorable collaboration involved working with a fellow visual artist who challenged my usual approach to composition. Their perspective opened me up to new visual possibilities, leading to an unexpected fusion of elements. Through our collaboration, I began to experiment with layering more abstract visuals and textures in my photography, which ultimately enriched my creative expression and helped me explore new artistic territories.
3. Walk us through a specific project that challenged your creative boundaries. How did you approach it, and what did you learn from the experience?
AQUA, a project I worked on with DJ An Chen, was particularly challenging yet rewarding. We combined 3D design with live visuals, creating an immersive experience that pushed my creative limits. This project marked the beginning of my exploration into integrating my background in new media with photography, a fusion I continue to pursue. It taught me the importance of blending disciplines to create something truly innovative, and it inspired me to keep experimenting with this integration in future projects.
4. In the ever-evolving art world, what do you believe sets your work apart and makes it unique or groundbreaking?
My work is characterized by a futuristic aesthetic and a sense of tension that lies between fine art and fashion. I often explore the intersection of personal identity and societal issues, sometimes delving into social commentary and critique. I strive to create pieces that provoke thought and emotion, pushing the boundaries of traditional photography and incorporating elements of new media to offer a unique and innovative perspective.
5. As you reflect on your journey, are there any specific goals or milestones you've set for your artistic career in the coming years?
One of my primary goals is to collaborate with more artists and creatives from different disciplines. I want to continue experimenting with new ways to present photography, combining it with technology to create more innovative and interactive experiences. I see endless possibilities in merging traditional art forms with cutting-edge technology, and I’m excited to explore these opportunities in the coming years.
6. How did you discover Mob and what made you choose us?
I discovered Mob through a recommendation from a friend who knew I was looking for a platform that supports innovative, forward-thinking artists. I was drawn to your commitment to fostering creativity and pushing the boundaries of art, which aligns perfectly with my own values as a new media artist.

This project blends the imagery of a black moon with a touch of Chinese poetic sensibility, echoing the somber atmosphere of the work. The character "Ink" symbolizes the deep tones of traditional Chinese ink painting, while also conveying a sense of repression and introspection.
